Description Distance: 26 miles Location: Mendenhall Glacier Start Time: 5:00 AM Race Director: Floyd Strain A marathon run by Juneau Parks and Recreation, twice the length of the Mendenhall Loop Road. The half way point of each lap was at DeHart's, where refreshments were provided. Open to everyone, men and women of all ages; entrants under 19 needed a parental permission form from the Parks and Recreation office, Mount Jumbo School or the Community Programs office at 210 Admiral Way. Competitors were told to come dressed warmly and ready to run, since there were no dressing rooms, and were given track numbers. Place medals went to the top six. Everyone who completed the 26 miles received an award.
