| Event Description | Distance: 13 1/2 miles and 2 miles Location: Mendenhall Glacier parking lot Start Time: 8:00 AM for the two mile, 8:30 AM for the 13 1/2 Registration Fee: 1 dollar, from half an hour before each start A mini-marathon sponsored by Juneau Parks and Recreation, over two courses from the Glacier parking lot. The longer distance is 13 1/2 miles rather than the standard half marathon of 13.1. The notice says the courses "have been established", which in 1970s Juneau meant measured locally to whatever the road gave. No results are held for this running. |
